On-leash training is beneficial as a stand-alone class or as the foundation for off-leash training.
If you have ever observed someone with a dog that stayed by their side without a leash, you may have felt a bit envious. That is particularly true if your daily walks with your dog on a leash are less than enjoyable for you or your dog. If you are tired of having your arm practically pulled out of its socket every time your dog catches a whiff of something of interest, call on us at Dogs By Andy K-9 Services to ask about our on-leash training classes.
On-leash training classes are necessary before moving on to control your dog off-leash. It is imperative to first create a bond between you and your dog and get them to the point they won’t run off toward an unsafe stimuli or situation. You must know that your dog will behave well toward anyone who comes up to you because you have communicated to them that the situation is safe and secure. Once you have complete trust after the conclusion of on-leash training, we can proceed to off-leash training, if you desire that step.
Our on-leash training involves six weeks of 45-minute to 1-hour weekly lessons. As is the case with all our training classes, this class is guaranteed for the life of your dog; if he or she regresses at any time, we will provide additional training free of charge.
If you have any questions about our on-leash training or any of our training classes, don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to working with you, so your walks around the Cornelius, North Carolina area with your dog are a joy for you and your dog.
